So what is there to tell about me and my business? My name is Gladys Bragg Strickland, and I founded GS Business Resources in March 2009 in Memphis, Tennessee, where I currently spend most of my time.
My journey to business owner has taken many twists and turns. I’ve considered a variety of other businesses, but finally realized that with over 25 years experience in secretarial and administrative assistant positions I can have my own business doing what I know, and do, best.
My work experience has been in the medical and education fields, with a few retail jobs thrown in for extra money. They also turned out to be a great learning experiences for customer service. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and an Master of Arts in Art History, but my greatest learning experiences have come from living in England for a year and traveling throughout western Europe, and from being a mom.
I’ve recently had the opportunity to spend time near the beach! For someone who hates to be cold (and anything below 60 degrees F. is cold to me) and who loves the sun, this is a dream come true. It has also given me a chance to refine how I want my business to run, and work out any problems a little at a time. In a few years, you never know where you’ll find me, my netbook, and my wireless connection working from!
